This documentary photo series captures the remnants of 1800s Mormon Pioneer homesteads in Utah and the Arizona Strip, exploring the intersection of history and time through the enduring structures that once defined frontier life. Using 4×5″ large format dry plates, I aim to document the resilience and decay of these historic sites, preserving their present state in the 21st century. The series reflects on the pioneers’ journey, their struggles, and the mark they left on the American landscape. By highlighting the interplay between past and present, the photographs invite viewers to contemplate legacy, endurance, and the passage of time.
